With cloud-native applications, the architecture is completely different to previous monolithic patterns, and hence a new data protection approach is needed for supporting such application architectures. The data volumes are kept separate from the containers, with connection information available only in separate declarative metadata files. So while the overall application architecture has changed dramatically, the data still needs to be protected for business continuity. In this talk we are going to look how to deliver a data protection strategy for kubernetes and how the CSI plugin and snapshot support is critical to delivering this.
