Features

Features Community Standard Enterprise
High Availability Synchronous replication insulates you from node failure through replication of data to up to 5 replicas
Snapshots Application consistent snapshots let you back up your Ondat data outside of the Kubernetes clusters
Delta Sync Enables you to significantly improve recovery time if replicas get out of sync due to transient failures by only transferring changed blocks
Multiple Access Modes Let you dynamically provision ReadWriteOnce or ReadWriteMany volumes within your cluster

Rapid Failover Enables you  to detect node failure and automate recovery actions without administrator intervention

Data Encryption Encrypt your data with keys granular per PV in both transit, at rest, and common KMS systems
Scalability Disaggregated consensus means no single scheduling point of failure and no performance impact on the failure of a node
Thin provisioning Gives you the option to only consume the space you need in a storage pool rather than the volume size that you have created
Data reduction Transparent inline data compression lets you reduce the amount of storage used in a backing store as well as reducing the network bandwidth requirements for replication
Flexible configuration through labels You can provision all features per volume, using PVC and StorageClass labels
Multi-tenancy Fully supports standard Namespace and RBAC methods
Observability & instrumentation Provides you log streams for observability and Prometheus support for instrumentation
Deployment flexibility Scale up or scale out storage based on your application requirements. Works with any infrastructure – on-premises, VM, bare metal or cloud
Fencing Enables you to determine when a node is no longer able to access a volume and has protections in place to ensure that a partitioned or formerly partitioned node can not continue to write data
Rolling Upgrades of Orchestrators Rolling upgrade protection feature enables you to upgrade your cluster’s orchestrator without causing downtime or failure of Ondat

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

How should I choose between the Community, Standard and Enterprise Editions?

The Community Edition is free offering unlimited nodes but limited to 1 TiB storage capacity. Once you are in production and your workload capacity goes higher than 1 TiB, then the Standard PAYG Edition is the most cost-effective way to upgrade to 20 TiB capacity. For organizations whose needs extend beyond 20 TiB, we offer the Enterprise Edition.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Ondat uses Stripe to process payments, and users can pay via Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit, and debit cards. We use Stripe to ensure that no sensitive card data passes or is stored on our servers.

What happens if I change my plan from monthly to annual? And vice-versa?

Plan changes will be applied to your billing plan for the next billing cycle. Speak to our team if you have any questions.

How does the Pay As You Go plan work?

Usage is checked once per hour, for the previous 55 minutes. If your node is active during the 55-minute window, it will be counted as a single node hour. This gives customers a 5-minute grace period if they are shutting down the cluster on the hour.

How can I cancel a Pay As You Go plan?

You can go to the subscription page on the Ondat SaaS Platform and switch to the Community Edition. You will only be charged for your usage to date.

What happens if I hit my usage limits?

This is a great sign that your environment is growing healthy and successfully. When you reach the capacity limit, you will be alerted within the SaaS Platform. If you are concerned that you may reach a new billing tier, please contact us via chat or write to getstarted@ondat.io and we will make sure that Ondat license limits do not impact your operations.

What if I want to select the Enterprise plan?

The Enterprise Edition comes with additional benefits and unlimited storage capacity. It can also be tailored to your specific infrastructure and platform needs. You can contact us through the portal chat or via getstarted@ondat.io. We will be happy to help you.
